Limelight Networks, one of the world’s largest and fastest CDNs, needed better visibility into massive traffic volumes across 80+ global PoPs to optimize capacity, troubleshoot issues, and control costs. Its in-house, command-line analytics tool couldn’t scale well enough or be used broadly across teams, so Limelight turned to Kentik Detect for network traffic intelligence and traffic engineering.

Kentik implemented a SaaS-based platform that made traffic trending, analysis, capacity planning, and routing troubleshooting much faster and easier. With Kentik, Limelight reduced MTTR from about 1.5 hours to 20 minutes, cut a key workflow from over an hour to about 15 minutes, automated traffic engineering, and identified routing inefficiencies that delivered significant savings on transport and IP transit costs.
