Wholistic Matters - Customer Case Study

Wholistic Matters, a Standard Process site for health and wellness professionals, asked Wakefly in 2017 to build a content hub on Kentico that would maintain platform continuity and developer efficiencies. What began as a straightforward blog shifted into a requirement for social-media-like features—curated conversations, member reading lists, likes, privacy toggles, custom notifications, and FDA-compliant external-link handling—while also supporting marketing tracking and lead-scoring workflows. Delivering this while relying primarily on out-of-the-box Kentico functionality proved challenging and required significant customization.

Wakefly extended Kentico’s Message Board and APIs with custom tables, a Web API and a Vue.js front end to manage dynamic interactions (add/remove reading lists, like comments, follow conversations, toggle privacy) and added a CSS-based external-link popup to meet FDA requirements. They also implemented a custom announcements/notification system, EMS lead scoring, analytics, and a pop-up web part for acquisition flows. The site launched October 4, 2017, with full social features, content sharing, and marketing tracking in place—preserving Kentico continuity and reducing operational cost and training overhead for Standard Process.
