W.F. Howes, a major name in audiobooks, needed a redesigned website that reflected its market reputation while making navigation, search and checkout far more user-friendly. The project had to balance retaining existing customers and functionality with attracting a broader audience, all while progressing alongside sister-site redesigns — managed through extensive discovery, client workshops and close collaboration.
Distinction rebuilt the site with library login functionality, clearer genre- and format-based navigation, personalized title recommendations and a Kentico-based e-commerce CMS for easier in-house management. Launched 14 November 2016, the new site delivered strong results: sessions +46%, users +41%, page views +36%, average session duration +16%, average time on page +27% and bounce rate −21%, with early sales exceeding any month in the prior year.
