The Football Rebublic - Customer Case Study

The Football Republic (TFR), a Shotglass Media brand known for fan-driven YouTube debate and reaction content, asked Syndicut to build a mobile-first website that didn’t just repeat existing blogs but visualised how fans feel in real time. Key challenges included creating separate, club-branded channels with restricted CMS access, embedding third‑party video, capturing and timestamping live social sentiment around matches, and finding an API and architecture that could reliably process high‑volume Twitter data.

Syndicut implemented a .NET MVC front end with Kentico 9 as an independent CMS and a separate background processing instance that continuously ingests Twitter via the Blurrt API into SQL Server, powering sentiment “Buzz” feeds, player rankings and per-player stats. Additional work included Ooyala video integration, automated component screenshots for social sharing, and custom Kentico modules and forms. Early promotion drove a one-day spike of 10,000+ visitors to a club channel, and the platform is positioned to scale further as wider marketing rolls out.
