A Kentico Case Study
The Chef’s Garden is a family-owned specialty farm in Northeast Ohio that supplies microgreens, heirloom vegetables, herbs and edible flowers to professional chefs worldwide. For a new website they needed a brand-reflective e-commerce experience that could bi-directionally synchronize real-time product availability with a complex, homegrown ERP, requiring careful legacy data cleaning, strict accuracy, user activation features and a flexible API framework.
thunder::tech recommended and implemented the Kentico CMS, integrated it with The Chef’s Garden’s custom database, and built custom page types, templates, workflows, checkout integration, widgets, scheduled tasks, tables, forms, MailChimp and a shipping provider to enable reliable sync and easy content management. The new site produced the company’s first online order and strong engagement gains (measured 8/31/2016–9/18/2016 vs prior year): sessions +61.8%, users +47.3%, pageviews +103.7%, pages/session +25.9%, average session duration +41.2%, and bounce rate down to 32.2% (−23.9%).
