SWAN (Scottish Wide Area Network) is a mission‑critical public services network connecting schools, hospitals, pharmacies and local councils across Scotland. Its existing website was built from static files, wasn’t responsive on tablets and mobiles, and was difficult to update—creating accessibility and content‑management problems for a service supporting thousands of sites.

Distinction rebuilt the site using modern HTML5/CSS3 and a mobile‑first Bootstrap approach, then migrated the templates and modules into a Kentico CMS to enable easy editing and device detection. The result is a faster, fully responsive site that editors can update in‑house, improving accessibility and keeping the mission‑critical service consistently up to date.
