Sommelier Wine Awards - Customer Case Study

Sommelier Wine Awards engaged Obergine to replace a manual, paper-based entry process with a scalable online system that could handle high volumes of submissions, support multiple user roles, integrate card payments with invoicing, and communicate competition stages clearly to entrants worldwide. Key challenges were improving data integrity, minimising entrant effort when entering dozens of wines, managing conditional form logic, and converting a complex offline workflow into a simple, global web experience.

Obergine built a Kentico-based site with structured forms, dropdowns and pre-populated fields, AJAX search for easy re-submission, and e‑commerce plus invoicing thresholds to streamline payments. The new system increased data accuracy, sped up invoicing and chase processes, and simplified backend management with category codes, filtering and bulk updates so entries can be promoted, eliminated or organised quickly—delivering a more efficient, scalable competition platform.
