Shaw Industries, a global flooring manufacturer with more than 22,000 associates, engaged Bit‑Wizards to replace a clumsy legacy order process with a user‑friendly B2B e‑commerce portal. The project had to handle extreme scale (about 40,000 customer records and 500,000 product SKUs), industry‑specific decimal unit measures (Kentico’s out‑of‑the‑box cart used integers), and tightly controlled product access while integrating with ERP and legacy order systems, improving front‑end speed, and making development/testing and maintenance easier.

Bit‑Wizards delivered a custom Kentico solution—moving SKUs to custom modules, building smart search indexes and indexers, implementing a layered Kentico MVC rewrite, centralized caching, and an “umbrella” WCF/SOAP integration to map differing product/order definitions. The result is a faster, responsive web portal that lets account managers and franchisees place orders without touching the legacy system, simplifies testing and future development, and provides a scalable foundation to unify Shaw’s ordering across brands.
