A Kentico Case Study
Sail-In Cinema transforms Toronto’s Sugar Beach into a three-night, two-sided floating movie theatre and needed a microsite to promote the event, collect public votes for film programming, manage free e-ticket distribution, host a Porter Airlines contest, and showcase sponsors, media and testimonials. The Toronto Port Authority required a site that could support three distinct phases (voting, ticketing, archival), prevent overselling, minimize user abandonment during ticket acquisition, and be easy for non-technical staff to update year-to-year.
Seventyeight Digital built the site on Kentico, creating custom content types and web parts for movies, sponsors, yearly media, FAQs and testimonials, a secure barcode e-ticket system, and a simple three-step ticket workflow to reduce abandonment. The Kentico Forms tool enabled rapid creation of the airline contest, while reporting and social integration helped manage ticket availability and amplify promotion. The result was a maintainable, flexible site that protected event capacity, streamlined administration, and increased engagement around the Sail-In Cinema experience.
