Sacramento Public Library - Customer Case Study

Sacramento Public Library, serving more than 1.3 million residents across 28 locations and a bookmobile, faced an outdated, hard-to-search Dreamweaver site that made content management, event promotion and catalog discovery difficult for staff and patrons alike. The library needed concurrent multi-editor workflows, streamlined event/RSVP handling, and a way to surface featured books from its catalog via API—all while improving design and site search for the 356,000 monthly visitors.

Michael Baker International rebuilt saclibrary.org on Kentico, combining out-of-the-box tools with clean, custom C# code to integrate the catalog (searchable site-wide, featured book slider and virtual shelf), event management and improved navigation and visuals, and trained staff on maintenance. The result: higher reader loyalty and increased participation in classes and services, easier content updates, and lower ongoing maintenance costs.
