A Kentico Case Study
Ricardo Rail, a new business unit of century-old engineering firm Ricardo, engaged Major Digital to build an external marketing website to serve a global audience. The project needed automatic multilingual support, a way to surface news from the parent site without manual re-entry, a simple drag-and-drop homepage editing experience for non-technical editors, and the ability to scale into a multisite architecture.
Major Digital built the site on Kentico, implementing localization (English, Dutch, Chinese) with browser auto-detection, RSS integration to pull and style parent-company news, and a flexible mix of widgets and sections for easy homepage reordering. The multisite-ready platform and user-friendly UI delivered strong early results: in the first year the site attracted over 35,000 users, 138,000+ page views, 45,000+ sessions, an average of 3+ pages per session and a 2:30 average session duration.
