Rate My Employer is a community website that lets Canadian employees rate and review their employers. Rebuilt as part of JobWings’ move to a unified Kentico CMS (partnered with r42 communication Inc.), the project faced significant scale and performance challenges—over 7,000 companies, 35,000+ ratings and countless comments pushed the limits of the CMS and required a more robust architecture than the original ASP.NET site.

The team implemented a careful backend architecture and fine‑tuned SQL queries on Kentico, leveraging built‑in features like custom document types, message boards, memberships and bad‑word filters. User workflows include email confirmation, automated content scanning, voting/flagging, and admin dashboards for efficient moderation; ratings can be filtered by score, time frame, province, industry and company size. The result is a smoother, more manageable site with richer browsing and moderation capabilities.
