A Kentico Case Study
Picador, a Pan Macmillan imprint publishing contemporary fiction, non-fiction and poetry, needed a complete website redesign to replace an ageing site while retaining its brand and serving a primarily 25+ audience. Pan Macmillan engaged Distinction to deliver a responsive, differentiated community platform (alongside MyKindaBook) with clear business goals: +10% monthly memberships, +5% purchase conversions, increased organic traffic and improved UX through analytics, lead scoring and contact management.
Distinction built a responsive Kentico EMS site hosted on Windows Azure, adding social sharing, flexible templates, workflow/versioning, WYSIWYG styling and advanced marketing features (A/B testing, web analytics, personalization, segmentation and marketing automation). Within the first month year‑on‑year Picador saw a 44.25% increase in page views, 20.08% more pages/visit and 46.26% more search traffic, plus mobile improvements (pages/visit +9.8%, average visit duration +39.42%); the site also achieved strong editorial adoption and positive stakeholder feedback.
