A Kentico Case Study
National Museums Northern Ireland (NMNI) — comprising the Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Ulster American Folk Park and Armagh County Museum — needed a first‑phase web platform to unify the museums online, enable structured content publishing across collections, and support micro‑sites for events (e.g., festival pages). Partnering with EG Information Consulting, the brief was to deliver a flexible CMS that met NMNI’s explore/engage/enjoy goals while accommodating varied navigation and curatorial workflows.
EG delivered a Kentico 4.0 implementation using templates and page types for layered collections, multiple navigation patterns, and features such as news, events/calendar, search, geomapping, an image gallery and YouTube integration. The site extended NMNI’s rebrand online, secured staff buy‑in, boosted visits and newsletter engagement, and achieved the project objectives while providing a platform for future enhancements (social, multilingual and e‑commerce).
