Mighty River Power - Customer Case Study

Mighty River Power, a New Zealand energy generator, needed a modern website to improve brand perception and stakeholder relations ahead of a public listing. The key challenge was delivering a clean, investor-focused site with rich interactive features (interactive KPI charts, a single-page power-station map, timeline, responsive design and media tools) while meeting a tight 10-week deadline and staying on budget.

Datacom built the site on the Kentico CMS using a portal-engine approach with custom controls and templates, enabling easy administration, content governance and multi-device responsiveness. The site went live in December 2011, was well received by staff, board and media, simplified access to information (e.g., replacing multiple station pages with an interactive map), and provided a nimble platform able to handle high traffic and support the company’s investor communications.
