Case Study: Melbourne Airport achieves 56% faster page loads and quicker flight data retrieval with Kentico

A Kentico Case Study

Preview of the Melbourne Airport Case Study

Melbourne Airport - Customer Case Study

Melbourne Airport, Australia’s second-busiest airport, needed a faster, more usable website to serve passengers and stakeholders, but the old site was slow—particularly for flight searches—and content administration was clunky and overly reliant on developers. The rebuild was a joint project led by Get Started (back end) and Hardhat Digital (strategy/design) to deliver a modern, information-rich resource covering flights, shopping, parking and travel times.

The site was migrated to Kentico and hosted on Microsoft Azure, using modular pages and widget libraries to give content teams greater independence and Azure services (Blob, Functions, Table/Queue storage, App Services, Traffic Manager) to speed and scale flight data processing. The flight search became more predictive and mobile-friendly, integrations with tools like Salesforce and VicRoads were streamlined, and overall page load speed improved by 56%, while architecture choices ensured high availability and lower operational costs.
