M is for Money - Customer Case Study

M is for Money is an all-Canadian nine-book series that teaches financial literacy to children ages five to nine. Working with Inorbital, the team needed a clean, bright, kid-friendly e-commerce site that showcased big illustrations, supported parents and educators, and launched quickly to coincide with the print release. Key challenges included a short timeline, integrating downloadable cross‑platform eBooks, preserving the brand illustrations in a responsive design, and delivering a secure, SEO- and mobile-ready shopping experience with shipping, taxes, discounts and payment gateway integration.

Inorbital implemented responsive templates and Kentico CMS with custom e-commerce extensions to meet those requirements: a modified checkout to preserve order discounts through registration, a Canada Post shipping component tied to customer addresses, and a handling fee modeled as a tax class with adjusted cart displays. The site now supports full mobile purchasing and reading, ranks on Google’s first page for its primary phrase, and shows strong performance—pages loading in about 1–2 seconds for 60 concurrent users.
