Hill Robinson Crew is an industry-leading yacht crew recruitment portal with over 10,000 registered crew members. Faced with an ageing Microsoft‑based site, the client engaged Discover IT to redevelop the platform to contemporary standards—migrating legacy data, implementing complex existing functionality, improving performance and scalability, and delivering a fully responsive experience for mobile and tablet users on Microsoft Azure.

Discover IT rebuilt the site on Kentico and Azure, implementing responsive, fluid-grid design, role/permission management, extensive caching and device-based image resizing, plus custom modules and integrations (SendGrid for email, NxPowerLite for document compression). A bespoke data migration tool ensured a seamless move to the cloud. The relaunched site is faster, more user-friendly and scalable, with increased traffic—mobile visitors +8.9%, average session duration +18.8% and new sessions +42.4%—and improved search and administration for employers and crew.
