Heart of Georgian Bay - Customer Case Study

The Heart of Georgian Bay is the Destination Marketing Organization for Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay and Tiny, promoting boating, nature, heritage and arts. Seventyeight Digital built a Portal Engine within Regional Tourism Organization 7’s BruceGreySimcoe framework to deliver a CMS-driven, responsive site at lower cost. Key challenges were providing a consistent operator registration/claim process across many cloned portals, sharing operator data between each portal and BruceGreySimcoe, and offering an interactive map for discovery.

Seventyeight Digital selected Kentico and used web services to centralize operator records in the BruceGreySimcoe database while allowing each portal its own management screens and branding; operators can opt to display their listing on selected portals with a checkbox. Google Maps powers the searchable interactive map. The result is a reusable, modular portal template that reduced development costs, improved operator self‑service and data consistency across sites, and delivered a responsive, feature-rich tourism site aligned with RTO7’s goals.
