A Kentico Case Study
Frederick Community College, a growing two-year college serving on-campus and online students, needed a complete UX/UI overhaul of its Kentico-powered site to better serve current demographics and meet 508 accessibility requirements. The project had to integrate third‑party designs, keep production and development environments synchronized throughout the build, reassign templates across hundreds of pages, and reorganize the site tree without disrupting live content.
Competitive Innovations partnered with FCC to implement modular “ribbon” components wrapped in containers, enabling quick, drag‑and‑drop landing pages and reducing duplicated design work. They used Kentico Content Staging with daily manual syncs, automated development backups, a template tracking system, and a short content freeze for reorganization. The result was an on‑time, on‑budget launch with minimal bugs, post‑launch support, and a flexible, accessible site that leveraged Kentico’s responsive, staging, and SmartSearch capabilities.
