Fastec Handrails, part of the Barrett Steel group, designs and manufactures modular handrail fittings. Pixelbuilders was engaged to redesign Fastec’s site to support the purchasing journey, generate more online sales enquiries and help depot teams manage leads. The main challenge was the scale and complexity of a large product catalogue that had to be easy to edit in the CMS and simple for users to search, filter and navigate while meeting performance and SEO requirements.

Pixelbuilders rebuilt the site on Kentico 9 with an e-commerce-style basket for product enquiries, a CSV uploader and bespoke product-listing functionality to simplify catalogue management, plus AJAX interactions for better usability. They optimized images with Dianoga and an in-house resizer and moved JavaScript to the page bottom to improve load times. The result is a more user- and search-engine-friendly site: within five days bounce rate stayed well under 40%, users viewed over five pages and spent more than five minutes on average, and product enquiries and contact submissions are being recorded.
