ENI E&P, the Exploration & Production division of multinational energy company ENI, commissioned a rebuild of its intranet to re‑engineer content architecture, standardize management and presentation, and migrate thousands of documents from legacy HTML pages. The project faced a large user base with complex, section‑specific search requirements, centralized access control via SiteMinder, and the need for a flexible, maintainable page model to replace free‑text content.

eLogic implemented a Kentico‑based solution that integrated SiteMinder authentication via the Kentico API, created custom page types and a hierarchical “fractal” content architecture across 21 sections, enabled Edit‑in‑Place editing, and deployed dual search (external indexing plus customized Kentico Smart Search). The intranet now runs on a platform chosen for usability, admin manageability, staging and SharePoint integration; because the site contains confidential content, usage figures are not disclosed, but the solution meets ENI’s technical and operational requirements.
