EMT Madrid - Customer Case Study

EMT Madrid, the City Council-owned public transport operator for Madrid, needed to modernize its corporate image and support an ambitious strategic plan by adding a content management system. The project faced technical challenges including reusing existing route and calculation systems, integrating GIS, and reconciling legacy ASP/Flash components with a new .NET-based platform.

BABEL Sistemas de Información implemented a Kentico CMS solution built in Visual Studio 2008 with SourceSafe, integrating GIS and legacy systems on the .NET framework. The new site delivered a more modern, dynamic and fully accessible experience, improved response times and usability, and drove about a 35% increase in visits; Kentico was chosen for its feature fit and alignment with the organization’s Microsoft technology stack.
