A Kentico Case Study
Macmillan commissioned Kentico Gold Partner Distinction to design and build Dear Zoo and Friends, a consumer-facing site for Rod Campbell’s long-running children’s book Dear Zoo. The brief was to engage parents, teachers and very young children with a mobile-optimised, child-friendly experience that combined educational games and resources, promoted the Dear Zoo product range via retailer referrals (Amazon, Hive, WHSmiths) and recommended related books and merchandise.
Following a detailed discovery informed by Mumpanel research, Distinction launched the site with two educational games (Matching Pairs and Noisy Farm), free downloadable activity sheets, book videos, EYFS teacher resources and an age-and-stage browsable books section with reviews and Kentico-powered “you may also like” related content. The site is tablet-optimised and uses Kentico EMS for marketing optimization; stakeholders and parenting blogs have given strong positive feedback and Macmillan report that the site meets their goals for engagement, education and brand awareness.
