A Kentico Case Study
The Building Societies Association (BSA) engaged Distinction to migrate its website from an outdated Kentico 9 codebase to the latest Kentico platform so the site could better support members, stakeholders and public policy updates. The primary challenge was a complex content migration — including users and passwords, version history, workflows, permissions and links — while delivering improved member communication, engagement and a cleaner, easier-to-manage CMS/CRM experience.
Distinction used Kentico’s Import Toolkit and REST API to transfer content and built two bespoke modules so Kentico could act as BSA’s main CRM (auto-assigning users to accounts by email and a “Notifications” tab for notifying subscribers of page changes). The upgrade delivered measurable improvements: 60% increase in event registrations, 5.21% longer session duration, 16.4% faster average page load time and an 89.88% decrease in download time, alongside more efficient content management and member communications.
