A Kentico Case Study
Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada partnered with A.K.A. New Media to launch the inaugural Capital One Race for Kids, a national fundraising event that needed a modern, mobile-friendly web presence to serve as its primary marketing and communication vehicle. The challenge was to build a flexible site and integrated microsite system that would engage a new target audience of 25–35 year-olds, support corporate and volunteer fundraising streams, improve donor communication, and give local clubs the tools to drive online fundraising without a separate mobile app.
A.K.A. delivered a tactile, paper-like design with targeted imagery, a large sliding homepage banner, a “Pick Your City” dropdown, a Personal Stories section, and strategic social media and multimedia features to encourage viral sharing and participant engagement. Built on the Kentico CMS, the solution enabled easy updates by BGCC, seamless club microsite integration, and mobile compatibility — results that clubs praised for providing robust fundraising tools, stronger donor communication and increased confidence in the event’s success.
