ALCS - Customer Case Study

Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS) commissioned Lime Media to create “The Blurb,” an engaging intranet that would be visually attractive, fun and useful while enabling information sharing and giving teams ownership of their content. The main challenge was balancing a distinctive, bespoke design with a standardized information architecture that reflected team structures, supported departmental tagging, searchable content, document-level permissions and integration with Windows Domain Authentication.

Lime applied a design‑led approach built on their work for ALCS’s public site and implemented the solution in Kentico CMS, carefully deciding which features to use out‑of‑the‑box and where to add custom functionality. Delivered through an iterative build with stakeholder reviews over roughly four months, the result is an intuitive, easy‑to‑use intranet with departmental tagging, robust permissions and strong administrator usability — outcomes ALCS praised for both design and low training requirements.
