ABS-CBN News, the Philippines’ most popular news site with about 120–130 million monthly page views, needed to scale its platform for much higher traffic ahead of the 2016 elections. Their existing site couldn’t reliably handle huge traffic spikes, and the business goal was to support at least 300 million page views per month while making editorial workflows easier to manage.

Ray Business Technologies redesigned templates, implemented custom publishing workflows and module grids, and migrated to a cloud stack using Azure SDK 2.5.4, SQL Azure, Azure Blob Storage and Redis cache to reduce server maintenance and speed page response. The site saw a 33% traffic increase to ~150 million monthly page views, a 22% drop in bounce rate, and rose to #6 in the Philippines (#388 globally) on average between June and December 2016.
