The YMCA of Delaware partnered with Kelly Benefits after noticing that employees were struggling to understand their benefits, especially after adding a consumer-directed health plan. Although their existing broker had been serving them well, the HR team wanted help improving benefits communication and making the overall program easier for employees to understand and value.

Kelly Benefits reviewed the YMCA’s plans and contracts, secured a self-funded medical proposal, and redesigned the benefits communication strategy with customized postcards, newsletters, and a 16-page benefit guide. Kelly Benefits also consolidated elections into one enrollment form and led enrollment meetings across nine branches. The result was more than $304,000 in first-year realized savings and cost avoidance, a 17.8% annual savings versus current medical costs, and better employee understanding of benefits with no change to per-pay deductions or plan design.
