A Kefron Case Study
Wicklow County Council was struggling with a haphazard, inefficient file-storage system across its 5,000 m² head office, with no consistent filing controls and frequent long searches (staff sometimes had to sift through 100–200 files). This made it difficult to meet new legal obligations such as the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts during a period of organisational change, so the council outsourced its records management to Kefron, using Kefron Filestores to take over document storage.
Kefron implemented an on-site solution through Kefron Filestores that included a barcode-based tracking system, tightened security and a full-time Kefron Filestores manager, plus a communications programme to help staff transition. The result was complete visibility and traceability of files, much faster retrieval (eliminating the need to rummage through hundreds of files), improved compliance and noticeably greater operational efficiency—outcomes the council says have made work “so much easier.”
