A Kefron Case Study
The Medical Council, which regulates doctors in the Republic of Ireland and manages over 19,000 registrations, was overwhelmed by paper records that made locating, retaining or destroying documents slow and risky. The Council had been using Kefron for off-site storage at its Park West Records Centre since 2001, but without a formal records management policy the archive ballooned with poorly indexed files and slow recall times, prompting the Medical Council to tender for a full records management and audit solution.
Kefron delivered a structured overhaul—forming a joint project committee, auditing and reviewing 91,000 stored documents, cataloguing and indexing files, scanning legacy application series, and advising on retention and eRecords policies—while providing secure, ISO-accredited off-site storage and encrypted backups. The result was immediate: full audit trails and named file owners, much faster retrieval (files now located in seconds), systematic destruction of expired records, reduced storage costs, improved decision-making and GDPR readiness, all delivered by Kefron.
