Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS), one of the largest fire services in the UK, needed to modernize its accounts payable scanning and invoicing to meet government digital mandates and improve accuracy, efficiency and scalability. ECFRS selected Kefron to replace its legacy scanning solution with the vendor’s G-Cloud‑accredited Cloud AP Automation (Kefron AP) to capture emailed and paper invoices, build audit trails, and reduce manual processing and physical storage.
Kefron implemented Kefron AP to automate invoice capture, reduce manual data entry and printing, and introduce workflows and notifications. Since going live the finance team has seen rapid adoption, much faster invoice retrieval and query resolution, eradication of physical invoice storage (saving office space), improved supplier relationships and on‑time payment KPIs, and clear time and cost savings for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.
