A Keeper Security Case Study
Oregon State University faced access and security problems after consolidating several quasi-independent IT departments that had been storing mission‑critical credentials in spreadsheets, shared drives, text files and single‑user apps. To standardize and secure password management during the consolidation, Oregon State University selected Keeper Security’s password manager and digital vault solution, which offered shared vaults, two‑factor authentication (2FA), automated complex password generation and mobile access.
Keeper Security deployed its password manager and shared vaults with 2FA, automated password rotation and mobile access, eliminating insecure password‑sharing methods and streamlining the IT consolidation. The Keeper Security implementation increased efficiency, allowed OSU to identify and replace weak passwords, and—per Keeper’s security analytics scorecard—improved OSU’s security scores, enabling regular password refresh policies and reducing the risk from weak or stolen credentials.
