Password Manager Helps Defend U.S. District Court Against Cyberattacks

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, which handles sensitive trial and personally identifiable information for millions of residents, faced a growing cybersecurity risk as employees managed more than 20 accounts each across multiple devices and often reused weak passwords. To address this challenge, the court adopted Keeper Security’s password manager and digital vault (business version) to centralize credential management and strengthen account security.

Keeper Security implemented a zero‑knowledge password manager with two‑factor authentication (via DUO), seamless Microsoft Active Directory integration, policy enforcement and account revocation capabilities, plus broad client and browser support. The deployment gave the court immediate visibility and control over password hygiene, enforced stronger policies, and closed a weak‑password vulnerability that contributes to more than 80% of data breaches.
