Colas Group, a global construction and maintenance company and subsidiary of Bouygues Group, faced the challenge of preserving and making accessible nearly a century of audiovisual archives stored across numerous physical media types. To transform this heritage into a strategic digital resource, they partnered with vendor Keepeek to implement its Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution, aiming to centralize assets, simplify access, and rationalize storage costs.

The solution involved migrating and harmonizing over 190,000 media assets into the centralized Keepeek DAM platform, a process that included defining a common thesaurus to unify metadata. This implementation provided global access for over 30,000 users, optimized storage with an intelligent 'hot/cold' strategy on Azure, and integrated with systems like Shutterstock. As a result, Keepeek enabled Colas to preserve its history, improve media governance, and create new connections between assets, such as linking magazine articles to their associated media for more efficient reuse.
