Black Health Alliance, a grassroots Canadian health advocacy nonprofit, had operated for more than 20 years with limited visibility and a volunteer-run model, making it difficult to reach donors, partners, and beneficiaries as interest in Black health equity issues began to grow. To help manage this growth, the organization turned to Keela for donor management, communications, and fundraising insights.
With Keela’s CRM, email tools, donor forms, automation, and automatic tax receipting, Black Health Alliance was able to centralize donor data, improve stewardship, and streamline operations. In one year, it engaged 1,087 new donors, raised over $1.5 million, and achieved a 70% average email open rate, helping the organization scale from about $8,000 to more than $1.5 million in annual revenue while strengthening donor relationships and operational stability.
