KBC A Yokogawa Company worked with a leading global energy company operating offshore oil and natural gas platforms in the Caribbean Sea. The company was concerned that some mature facilities had high energy consumption, significant emissions, and inefficient operations, and it asked KBC to carry out a pilot energy audit of one platform.

KBC A Yokogawa Company performed a comprehensive energy audit using gap analysis to identify inefficiencies, prioritize projects, and create an energy management roadmap. The review found low-investment opportunities that could cut the platform’s energy intensity from 8.9 GJ/t to 6.9 GJ/t, reduce CO2 emissions by 19% or about 58,000 klb per year, and deliver over a dozen projects with total annual savings of USD 700,000, while also supporting safety, reliability, and produced-water improvements.
