Refinery Increases Productivity Using the Visual Mesa Supply Chain Scheduling System

KBC A Yokogawa Company helped Parkland Fuel Corporation, Canada’s largest and one of North America’s fastest growing independent marketers of fuel and petroleum products, address a major integration challenge after acquiring Chevron Canada’s Burnaby refinery. The site needed to replace most business management and scheduling systems and quickly align operations across a 55,000-bpd refinery with the new parent company.

KBC A Yokogawa Company implemented Visual MESA Supply Chain Scheduling, integrated with existing Visual MESA Production Accounting, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Aspen Demand Manager, to manage marine, rail, pipeline, and truck logistics from receipt nomination through execution. The solution improved coordination, automated reports and bills of lading, increased productivity, saved time, reduced errors, and helped the operator anticipate disruptive events so they could minimize their impact.
