Case Study: QuantAQ achieves streamlined workflows and product traceability with Katana

A Katana Case Study

Preview of the QuantAQ Case Study

How QuantAQ streamlines their workflows and ensures traceability

QuantAQ, an MIT spin-off founded by David Hagan, builds IoT air quality sensors and moved from simple, preset-batch production tracked in Excel to more complex operations with roughly 50 parts per product, contract sub-assemblies, in-house final assembly, calibration and shipping. As growth strained forecasting, accounting, inventory and cost-tracking, QuantAQ evaluated several options and chose Katana’s cloud manufacturing software to replace spreadsheets.

Katana automated QuantAQ’s sales-to-manufacturing workflows, enabled serial-number traceability, and handled purchasing with sync to QuickBooks Online while integrating with Slack and the Shop Floor App for packing and receiving. The result: clearer revenue and COGS reporting for accountants, simplified warranty/support tracking, and a small team that was able to keep parts in stock and continue building and shipping through COVID supply disruptions without supply-chain failures.
