A Kastle Systems Case Study

District Wharf - Customer Case Study

District Wharf, a mile-long mixed-use development on the Potomac that draws large crowds (50,000–75,000 for major events and nearly 12 million visitors overall), needed powerful security that could be live from day one, allow tenant-specific camera access, minimize on-site infrastructure, and deliver smart alerts and easy evidence sharing with police and the Coast Guard. District Wharf engaged Kastle Systems (including its Kastle CloudVMS cloud-managed video solution) to meet these complex requirements during an ongoing multi-phase construction and leasing program.

Kastle Systems installed a cloud-managed Kastle CloudVMS with a web-configurable video wall, AI-driven analytics, and 4MP day/night cameras that require minimal on-site equipment. The system routes video by triggering events so a single officer can monitor most incidents while patrolling, enables much faster investigations via a search engine (pinpointing incidents in a fraction of the time), and proactively monitors system health. As a result, response times and evidence collection improved, routine monitoring footprint was reduced, and District Wharf reports enhanced safety—no violent incidents reported under the new Kastle Systems deployment.
