World class cybersecurity available for all

Bolton Sixth Form College, a high‑performing A Level college serving about 1,800 students, suffered a serious cyberattack in summer 2020 that encrypted servers and forced a temporary closure during a critical period. Facing risks to large volumes of personal and academic data and under tight public‑sector budgets, the college engaged Kaspersky Lab to help harden its IT estate and prevent a recurrence.

Kaspersky Lab implemented Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Advanced across 1,200 endpoints, added Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response for automated visibility and threat investigation, and deployed Kaspersky Security for Microsoft Office 365 (set up in about 10 minutes). The measures gave the college automated detection and dashboards, helped them recover with only a one‑week reopening delay and restored confidence in operations, and the UK Information Commissioner approved the enhanced security provisions — all while remaining within budget.
