A Kaspersky Lab Case Study
Mannheim University of Applied Sciences needed immersive, practice-led cybersecurity education to give its 4,500 students real-world skills in areas like defense‑in‑depth and incident response rather than textbook theory. To meet that need the university partnered with Kaspersky Lab and adopted the Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS) to bring gamified, hands-on scenarios into its teaching.
Kaspersky Lab delivered KIPS — a web‑based, board‑game style simulation with ten real‑world attack scenarios and a license for unlimited rounds and players — enabling students to experience the operational and financial impact of cyberattacks and practice coordinated responses. The solution has trained more than 200 students, significantly increased engagement and teamwork in cybersecurity exercises, and spurred interest in additional Kaspersky Lab training resources such as Kaspersky ASAP.
