A Kaspersky Lab Case Study
AZ Sint‑Jan, a public hospital group with campuses in Bruges and Oostende serving about 3,500 employees across three locations, faced the challenge of securing digitized patient care systems—including radiographic image databases and electronic patient files—that must run 24/7. After merging IT estates in 2009, the hospital consolidated its security with Kaspersky Lab, using solutions such as Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, Security for Mail Server and Kaspersky Security for Virtualization to protect a complex environment of roughly 2,000 PCs/laptops and 200 servers.
Kaspersky Lab carried out an inventory and migrated AZ Sint‑Jan to the latest security versions, upgrading physical clients and virtual machines and deploying Kaspersky Security for Virtualization (with KSV Light Agent), Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Select and the Kaspersky Security Centre management platform. The vendor’s solution automated health monitoring and reporting, standardized security across the ICT estate and enabled safe delegation of tasks—delivering clearer control and ongoing optimization of protection for the hospital’s virtual and physical environments.
