Secure Desktop Virtualization At Fubon Bank

Fubon Bank, a Shanghai-based commercial bank serving merchants across the Straits, had consolidated its IT on Citrix VDI to cut costs but ran into serious security challenges: traditional antivirus on each VM consumed CPU, memory and storage, reduced VM density and harmed end-user responsiveness. To secure a growing VDI and virtual server environment without losing virtualization benefits, Fubon Bank selected Kaspersky Lab’s Kaspersky Security for Virtualization with Light Agent after testing other options.

Kaspersky Lab deployed a Security Virtual Appliance per host with a lightweight agent on each VM to centralize scanning and enable application, device and web controls, anti‑malware and advanced heuristics while using cache technology to minimize full‑scan impact. The solution now protects more than 1,200 virtual desktops, delivers efficient storage consumption and a small resource footprint, preserves end‑user performance and allowed Fubon Bank to maximize the cost advantages of virtualization.
