A Kaspersky Lab Case Study
DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, the organization responsible for air traffic control in Germany with around 6,000 employees and up to 10,000 flight movements a day, needed a cost-effective, multi‑platform malware protection solution for a complex proxy environment (about 5,000 workstations and 100 servers across 19 sites, running Windows and Linux, using Squid/ICAP). After evaluating alternatives, DFS selected Kaspersky Lab and its Kaspersky Security for Internet Gateways (including Kaspersky AntiVirus for Proxy Server) to meet its requirements.
DFS implemented the Kaspersky Lab solution in about a day and has run it stably since September 2010; all proxy internet traffic is now scanned in real time with heuristic analysis, protecting workstations and servers from viruses, Trojans and spyware. The deployment delivered secure internet access for employees, fulfilled all technical needs (Linux and ICAP/Squid compatibility), required no external support, and provided better value than the previous system.
