Kumtor Gold Mine, a major gold producer and employer in the Kyrgyz Republic, faced heightened information‑security demands after nationalization in 2022 and strict new government regulations. To strengthen defenses against a changing cyberthreat landscape, Kumtor turned to Kaspersky Lab, piloting and then adopting solutions including Kaspersky Anti‑Targeted Attack (KATA), Kaspersky EDR Expert (KEDR Expert), Kaspersky Total Security for Business, hybrid/cloud security and the Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform.

Kaspersky Lab implemented a layered, XDR‑class solution that protects network, web/email traffic, endpoints, servers, virtual machines and cloud environments while training staff on cyberhygiene. The combined deployment improved threat detection and rapid incident response, optimized event monitoring processes, and “significantly enhanced the security level of the entire corporate perimeter,” allowing Kumtor to reach a new level of information security and plan to expand the partnership.
