Kaspersky ups the level of industrial cybersecurity at KazMunayTeniz

KazMunayTeniz, the leading offshore oil and gas company in the Caspian region and a subsidiary of KazMunayGas, faced a pressing need to strengthen industrial cybersecurity and raise employee awareness after Kazakhstan experienced a high rate of attacks on industrial automation systems. To address this challenge, KazMunayTeniz engaged Kaspersky Lab and its Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity training to better protect offshore operations and the environment from cyber‑incidents.

Kaspersky Lab delivered a two‑day Industrial Cybersecurity in Practice course from its Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity portfolio, tailored to oil‑industry specifics and including live demonstrations of attacks on real controllers. Participants gained practical skills to create incident response plans, perform malware analysis and basic digital forensics; the training — the first of its kind in Kazakhstan — was rated “effective, informative and extremely useful,” and laid the foundations for a systematic industrial cybersecurity program at KazMunayTeniz.
