Kaspersky implements industrial cybersecurity project at Pavlodar Oil Refinery

KazMunayTeniz, operator of the Pavlodar Oil Refinery — one of Kazakhstan’s largest oil-processing plants — faced rising cyber risks as increased automation expanded its attack surface; Kazakhstan had been among the countries most targeted for industrial system attacks. To secure SCADA servers, HMIs, PLCs and industrial workstations, KazMunayTeniz engaged Kaspersky Lab and its Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity portfolio.

Kaspersky Lab implemented a layered Industrial CyberSecurity solution combining endpoint protection, industrial‑network defenses, PLC command monitoring, whitelisting, device access control and employee training — all deployed without changing SCADA configurations or interrupting operations. The rollout delivered continuous monitoring, integrity checks and anomaly detection across critical OT assets, strengthening risk management and providing reliable, non‑disruptive protection of the refinery’s industrial processes.
