IT Security For District Council

Landratsamt Ravensburg, the Ravensburg district council offices in Germany, needed reliable, easy-to-administer IT security to protect sensitive citizen and administrative data across 16 offices. Managing around 100 physical and virtual servers and about 1,000 standardized PC workstations, the council sought a solution that would secure their Windows infrastructure without disrupting daily operations and accepted Kaspersky Lab’s Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business.

Kaspersky Lab implemented Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business (installed in December 2007 after a workshop and staged test/prod rollout), tuned policies to restore remote maintenance access, and provided ongoing local support. The solution delivers antivirus, firewall, network-attack protection, encryption and device/web controls, giving all-round protection for 1,000 computers, 100 servers and roughly 1,400 employees, simplifying administration and enabling migration to newer Windows platforms while planning mobile endpoint protection.
