Fundação CASA elevates cybersecurity maturity with expansion beyond the endpoint

Fundação CASA, the São Paulo state institution that provides socio-educational services to young people, faced an expanding digital footprint—remote work, virtual visits and tele-audiences, over 10,000 devices and highly sensitive juvenile data—while operating with a lean IT/security team. To strengthen defenses and move beyond basic endpoint protection, Fundação CASA worked with Kaspersky Lab, upgrading from Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business Advanced to Kaspersky Optimum Security (including Kaspersky EDR Optimum and Kaspersky MDR Optimum) and commissioning a Kaspersky Cybersecurity Assessment.

Kaspersky Lab deployed its MDR Optimum service and EDR Optimum with 24/7 SOC monitoring, threat hunting, telemetry-driven detection and a formal assessment, completing implementation in October 2022 and delivering the assessment report in December 2022. The result was faster, automated incident detection and response, clearer visibility into micro incidents and vulnerabilities, daily reporting and immediate notification of events—freeing the IT team to focus on other functions while a six-person cybersecurity team now manages a macro and micro view across 120 locations and 10,000+ devices—raising Fundação CASA’s overall cybersecurity maturity without large new investments.
